Sondre is a Men’s Track and Field athlete from Ski, Norway. He was born to Kristin and Atle Guttormsen. He has two brothers, named Simen and Sebastian and also has one younger sister, Sara. His hobbies include gymnastics, cliff diving, scuba diving and surfing. He is seen to admire Sergei Bubka and gymnast Nile Wilson in the field of sports. Apart from sport, he studies Psychology at Princeton University and will peruse a masters in Sports Management at University of Texas starting fall 2023.

Before college, he won the state title in the Pole Vault at the CIF state meet, clearing 17 feet, 10 inches, a state-meet record and he blew away the field by at least two feet. He was just the second athlete to ever break 18 feet in the pole vault indoors in January 2018 at the National Pole Vault Summit. His 5.55m (18-2.5) effort in the Arcadia Invitational in April 2018 set the state record and the Norwegian Junior National mark. He cleared 5.46m (17-11) to take first place at the 91st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and recorded a PR of 14.02 in the 110m hurdles to finish second at the CIF State Championship Finals.

Other than that, he holds the state of California high school record holder for the pole vault (both indoor and outdoor). At the 2018 European Senior Championships, set a Norwegian record with a vault of 5.75m (18-10.25). Ultimately he finished in sixth place, the best sixth-place finisher in European Championships history. In 2016 at the U18 Championships, he took Bronze in the pole vault with a mark of 5.05m (16-3.75). At Norway’s U-20 Championships, took silver in the long jump with a mark of 6.87m (22-6.50).

In the year 2021-22, on the NCAA Indoor Championship after clearing 5.75 , Sondre won the NCAA Outdoor Championships after clearing 5.75 meters, finished third at the NCAA Regional and won the Ivy League Indoor Championship with a mark of 5.46 meters and the Ivy League Outdoor championships with a mark of 5.72 meters. He set a new Ivy record of 5.82 meters at the Tyson Invitational and competed at five regular season indoor meets.

He is a Norwegian record holder in Pole Vault and have the NCAA record in the event with a jump of 19’8.25 (6 meters). He is also an Olympian for the year 2021.
