Rafer Alston became a part of the New Jersey Nets on June 25, 2009. While being a member of the New Jersey Nets, Rafer Alston was able to get his first-ever triple-double from 2009 to 2010.
After clearing the waivers, Rafer Alston joined the Miami Heat for the second time on January 7, 2010.
Rafer Alston joined the Zhejiang Lions in the CBA on January 26, 2011, for the remaining time of the season. After playing 8 games for the Zhejiang Lions, Rafer Alston scored 19.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
Rafer Alston joined the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA D-League in 2012 to play the last season of his professional basketball career.
