Antonio Andrews is an American football running back (RB) who is currently serving as a free agent. He played his NFL debut match on 23rd November 2014 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Andrews scored the first touchdown of his career on 27th September 2015. He managed 12 carries and gave a spectacular 49-yard performance against the Colts.
Antonio Andrews showed his interest in football in his college days. First, he played for Western Kentucky and then was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. Moreover, he joined Memphis Express of the AAF as a member before playing for the Tennessee Titans.
Andrews played football for Fort Campbell High School during his school days. He helped his team reach the two-class 2A state championship. His splendid performance in his game helped him get the title of Kentucky Mr. Football in 2009. He threw 3,365 yards and 50 touchdowns during his high school football career. Moreover, Andrews rushed for 3,368 yards and 56 touchdowns.
Andrews played for Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in nine games. He joined the team in 2010 during his college days. Moreover, he played eight games in 2011 and managed 505 kick return yards and 590 all-purpose yards. Giving one of the best performances of his career, Andrews managed a 75-yard kick return against the Navy.
In 2012, Andrews became WKU's starting running back. He got an opportunity to lead the Sun Belt Conference in rushing yards, punt return yards, and kickoff return yards. Moreover, Andrews scored 15 total touchdowns during the game. Next, he secured the opportunity to lead the FBS in all-purpose yards per game. He managed 3,161 all-purpose yards during the season, which was the second-highest total in FBS history. During the last four games of the regular season, Andrews recorded over 300 all-purpose yards.
Andrews made the 2012 All-Sun Belt Conference Offense First Team and had been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week three times during that particular season. Moreover, he gained credibility by registering his name as the finalist for the Paul Hornung Award.
IN 2013, Andrews was named to the CFPA Running Back Trophy Watch List as a consistent performer in running backs. He was among the top 36 running back players. He finished his senior season with 1,730 rushing yards on 267 carries.
When Andrews went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, he was approached by the Tennessee Titans. However, he was released from the team on 29th August 2014. Fortunately, he was re-signed by them after two days of his release for the 10-man practice squad. Then he made his NFL debut with the Titans against Philadelphia Eagles. On 7th March 2017, Andrews became an unrestricted free agent for the Tennessee Titans.
Andrews signed a contract with the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football for the 2019 season. But unfortunately, he could not play for them and was released before the season began.
