Born on November 20, 1981, Carlos Austin Boozer Jr is an American former basketball player. This 2-time NBA All-Star played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, and Utah Jazz. Eventually, Carlos Austin Boozer Jr spent his last season playing overseas for the Chinese basketball team Guangdong Southern Tigers. As a member of the National US Basketball team, Team USA, Carlos Austin Boozer Jr won an Olympic Bronze Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics and an Olympic Gold Medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Though he was born at a military base in Aschaffenburg in West Germany, Carlos Austin Boozer Jr was raised in Juneau in Alaska with his other four siblings. Boozer's parents worked two jobs during his childhood and early basketball career to support their family.
Carlos Austin Boozer Jr is a 2-time member of the PARADE All-American High School Basketball Team and led Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears to win back-to-back state titles. Even though he was offered a place in several top-tier basketball programs at universities like St. John's and UCLA, Carlos Austin Boozer Jr eventually chose to play at Duke University under coach Mike Krzyzewski. Boozer helped his team win the 2001 NCAA championship.
