Karlos Jermell Williams is a former American football running back. Born on 4th May 1993, Williams was interested in football from his early school days. Then he started playing college football at Florida State. In the 2015 NFL Draft, Williams was drafted by the Buffalo Bills. However, he had to wait until the fifth round to register his name in the draft.
Williams attended Ridge Community High School in Davenport, Florida, in his early years. He actively participated in football, track, and basketball and performed exceptionally well in these three sports. Moreover, he played safety and running back. As a result, Rivals.com included him in the five-star recruit, and he was ranked as the second-best safety and eighth-best player in his class.
William enjoyed races and was a track star during his high school. He showed a splendid performance at the 2010 East County Track Meet with a record time of 22.49 seconds. Moreover, he secured 5th position in the 100 meters at the 2011 FHSAA 3A Championships with a time record of 10.7 seconds. In addition, he was timed at 10.5 seconds in the 100-meter dash as a senior.
Williams played safety in the first two years of his college career at Florida State. In 2011, he played 12 games as a backup safety and return specialist. However, he missed the teams' bowl game because of his broken wrist.
In 2013, Williams entered his junior season as a safety, but he was moved to running back after his first game. Moreover, he managed a 65-yard touchdown run against the Nevada Wolf Pack during his college career. William began his senior season in 2014 but played behind Dalvin Cook. He finished the year with a spectacular performance covering 689 yards on 150 carries with 11 touchdowns.
Williams was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He had a 26-yard touchdown run for the Bills against the Indianapolis Colts. Then Williams played against the Miami Dolphins during his third week with the Bills. He surpassed 100 yards rushing for the first time in his career. Surprisingly, he ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns on twelve carries.
Williams missed three games after a concussion against the New York Giants during week four of the season. However, he was fast in his recovery and joined the tournament in week nine. After his return, he played in a match against the Miami Dolphins. On 8th November 2015, Williams gained two touchdowns against the Dolphins.
On 11th October 2016, Williams was signed as a practice squad member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On 15th November 2019, Williams signed a futures contract for the 2020 CFL season with the Toronto Argonauts. On 14th December 2020, he signed a contract extension with the team. However, he announced his retirement from his professional football career within four months of signing the contract. On 27th April 2021, Williams announced his retirement from professional football.
