Trevin Wade was an American footballer, born on 1st August 1989. He was a football player in college in Arizona. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
Trevin Wade was born in Austin, Arizona. He studied at Stony Point High School after moving to Round Rock in Texas in the fifth grade. He played football (he played as a quarterback and both in the offence and defence positions) and basketball. Hubie Brooks, the basketball player, is one of his distant cousins.
Trevin Wade completed his education in college at the University of Arizona. He was in college from 2007 to 2011. He accomplished 182 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 2 touchdowns during his entire career.
After completing his education at college, Wade managed to get chosen in the third round by the majority of the experts and scouts of the NFL. He was invited to be a part of the NFL combine, and he completed all of them along with positional drifts. However, he chose to skip the 20-yard dash. Out of all the 34 cornerbacks at the combine, his 40-yard dash was the 19th fastest. Also, out of all the 19 cornerbacks who participated, his was the 10th best performance. NFLDraftScout.com named him the 12th best cornerback. He was also named the 25th best cornerback by Walterfootball.com.
At the 2012 NFL Draft, Wade was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round.
He made his debut in the regular season on 16th September 2012. He played for 3 matches for the Cleveland Browns in 2012. He finished it with a total of 17 combined tackles, 12 of which were solo, along with one pass deflection. He left the Browns on 28th August 2013.
Wade was assigned to the active roster of the New Orleans Saints on 18th November 2013. After completing an 11-5 record, Wade got the opportunity to play in the first playoff game in his career. He gained victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on 4th January 2014. He could achieve this by making 1 combined tackle during the Saint’s 26-24 NFC Wildcard game. He left the New Orleans Saints on 17th September 2014.
After being selected in the Detroit Lions, on 3rd November 2014, he spent the entire season in the practice squad.
Wade signed the reserve/future contract at the New York Giants on 3rd January 2015.
He managed to get the Giant’s third cornerback position after players like Dominique Rodgers, Cromartie and Prince Amukamara. Wade achieved seven combined tackles in 27-20. This was until then the highest in his career, and he also gained victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Wade achieved his second career start and made a record of 6 solo tackles, which was also the highest in his career. During the 2015 season, he played 16 games. He made a record of 52 tackles, and 6 pass deflects.
His coach acknowledged him as the 4th cornerback in the New York Giant’s chart at the beginning of the season. He completed the season with 26 combined tackles 4 pass deflections. He did all this in 16 games.
Wade joined the Ravens on 7th August 2017. However, during the final roster cuts, he left the Baltimore Ravens on 1st September 2017.
Wade joined the Miners in February of 2020 as a cornerback coach. He was active on an NFL roster for 6 seasons.
After retiring from football, Wade has participated in various activities as drill coordinator at the Prince Amakumara Football Camp and a coach for basketball at the Dobson High School. He also trained defensive backs at Gilbert High School.
He actively volunteers for charity organisations like Trevin Wade Foundation and Big Brothers and Big Sisters Athletes in Action.
He was a starter at the Arizona Wildcats for 3 years and an All-Pac selection twice. After graduating with a degree in Economics, he completed his master’s degree from Grand Canyon. He earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education in 2016. He married Courtney, and they have three children together.
